Bernice Bedford
Clutter

let's chuck our clutter, do it today
be rash with the trash, throw it away
empty cupboards, bookcases, chests of drawers
flutter dusters across newly bare floors

don't let the past, in corners, cling on
move on, it's over, yesterday's gone
clear a place for the future to bloom
accumulate space, celebrate room

be bold - discard what we no longer use
be brave and find we've got nothing to lose
simply stuff that's much more than we need
and more than we need may suggest greed
collecting crap means not moving ahead
so throw it away and live life instead.
