Derek Adams
Barefoot

Barefoot we tiptoe
Carefully
Through the broken crockery
Of our lives.
Thrown at each other
Across the void
That lies between us.

Still close
Enough to hurt each other,
Too far apart to care.

As we tiptoe
Barefoot
Through the broken crockery
Of our lives,
Carefully avoiding
The lies between us.
